Review of HP Pavilion: HDX-Penryn Refresh
COMPUTERS
Brief Specs
Core 2 Duo T9300 processor 2.5GHz
2GB RAM
Hewlett-Packard hasn't bothered to change the name of its 20-inch laptop with this new update, but a handful of new features and options make it worth a fresh look. Pushing the physical boundaries of the laptop form, the massive HP Pavilion HDX is still clearly more at home resting on a desk than sitting in your lap. Weighing an amazing 7.2kg and boasting a desktop-size 20-inch LCD, with high-end extras such as a Blu-ray drive (HD-DVD is also available), Nvidia's new GeForce 8800 GPU, and one of Intel's new Penryn Core 2 Duo processors.

Computers
THE GOOD
Stylish as always; handy little media center; decent sound.
THE BAD
Limited card reading ability; no way to hide or dock keyboard/mouse unless you have an additional drawer; limited stand adjustment.
THE BUTTOM LINE?
HP iPAQ 310 Travel Companion
GPS
When you boot up just about any device from HP, you get a splash screen exclaiming, “HP Invent.” This may be pure marketing shtick, but in the case of the new HP iPAQ 310 Travel Companion, it’s actually true:
The device offers innovation that its competitors don’t yet have.

The Xeon platform, although extremely powerful and overclockable, has been kept off the consumers’ hands for 10 years now. It was about time that Intel released a consumer-oriented alternative based on the powerful Xeons, and the 10th Xeon anniversary will bring us the Skulltrail beast in all its splendor.
